Eric
Owner & Florist
Eric was influenced to become a florist after seeing the 1996 chickflick “Bed of Roses” starring Christian Slater and Mary Stuart Masterson. He enrolled in the Algonquin College Floral Design Program in 1997 as the only man in his class. After receiving his diploma in 1998, Eric worked for multiple flower shops across Ottawa for 6 years, always thinking about Beechwood Avenue to open his own business. By the time he was ready to make the move to open his own business, Eric found the current home of Mood Moss Flowers. Beechwood had few shops at that time. The original location of The Works was located on the corner across the street on Beechwood and Putman and the remainder of the shops were up near McKay and Crichton. Eric took a risk, signed a 10 year lease and opened Mood Moss Flowers August 19th, 2004.
Buffy
Florist
Buffy has been at Mood Moss for over 10 years and working as a florist since her very first job in High School! Looking for a creative, hands on career, she took an internship at a local flower shop and knew she had found her calling. Graduating from the Floral Design Program at Algonquin College in 1997, Buffy has been working professionally as a florist ever since. In her personal life, Buffy is an amateur photographer and has produced award winning designs for Harvest Noir, but most people know her for her skill at hosting large-scale events. From transforming her house to create a fully immersive experience for her guests, to her legendary skills as a bartender, consider yourself lucky to be on the guest list for one of her events!
Keitha
Florist
Keitha has been with Mood Moss for approximately three years. Born and raised in Vanier, Keitha is a true local and has worked and lived in the neighbourhood her entire life!
Always a creative soul, she’s an avid painter and was drawn to study musical production and the arts. Being a florist is a perfect fit for her creative talents, and in particular her knowledge and expertise with horticulture and plants. If you’ve shopped along Beechwood Avenue, you’ve probably met our gal!
